Newcastle Jets have had a slow start to the season which has been further complicated by a long list of injuries to key players.
Gary van Egmond is looking for a big game from imports, Edmundo Zura and Jesper Hakansson who will have to be at their best to secure three points against Wellington this afternoon.
Wellington Phoenix will be confident after beating Sydney last week and will be looking to distance themselves from the bottom of the table.
The Jets season is not over yet. There is only 7 points between first and Newcastle, but if the Jets wish to finish in a respectable position a win today is crucial.
